Mindfulness and Focusing Class

Monthly, 4th Saturday, 9:30 to11 am

Interested to practice more self care in the coming months? You can use simple mindfulness and focusing practices to feel less stress in your life, work and relationships.

Heartwood Center. Registration with Smithhuemer@gmail.com. Fee:$25.  In a supportive group, you can learn to use your resources of mind-body awareness to feel less stress.

I also offer one-to-one sessions. Experience shows that you can become calmer, find a clear direction​ within yourself. and move forward with a whole range of issues, including anxiety, loss and grief, intimacy in relationships, moving past blocks, and coping with stress and health issues.​ Also, read stories from participants or make an appointment please contact me by email or go to www.marshasmithcounseling.com. One woman’s story illustrates how mindfulness and body awareness can help. When she felt tense, sad or angry, she would worry that the feelings would take over.  Her usual reaction was to distract herself from the emotions. She wanted to ‘silence’ herself and hadn’t tried to listen to her emotions. When she started to listen to her feelings, she said, “something in me relaxed and I became clearer about what I needed to do”.
