Art Show: Pandemic Art & Tea Stain Post-Its

December 4, 2022 - March 7, 2023

With Elyse Fineman:

Pandemic Art was born as a creative outlet during my time at home beginning in the spring of 2020. I use a jumble of mixed media (acrylic, paper, gems, costume jewelry) and whatever idea inspires me that day. So far, there are 85 one-of-a-kind pieces and counting. I am happy to work with you to create something unique for your home or office. I appreciate the opportunity to share my art with you!

And Berry Gustafson:

I have been making marks on paper since I was very little. My parents and grandparents supported my natural inclinations by supplying the raw materials and enrolling me in art classes from the very start. I studied art in college and became a graphic designer for
many years.

My current art passion is part of a nearly daily ritual that started back in 2004. I brew tea and afterward place my tea bag on a fresh post-it note. Once the resultant stain drys, I observe it from all angles and begin to create a drawing with a black sharpie marker. This process is fluid and unconscious. Kind of like adding to an ink blot test. The drawing usually is a servant of the stain and nearly always is a bit of a surprise. I enjoy the immediacy and spontaneous aspect of this way of making art and have shared the results with friends and family for many years now. This show is the first time I have shown framed versions of what I call my tea stain Post-Its in public.
