MERIDIANS ARE FOUND AND CLEARLY FELT WITH SENSITIVE HANDS AND HEART

Meridians form the foundation for what we do, both in theory and practice. Do you sometimes wish you knew for sure that you were really in those channels when you touch them? Would you like to feel secure enough to trust that you found specific points? Might there be a more reliable way of learning locations than memorizing anatomical landmarks?

If you are answering “yes” to these questions . . . then it must be time to leave these doubts and difficulties behind! By learning to feel the individual character of each meridian, we can identify the pathways by simply utilizing our developed sense of touch.

In this course, we will:

  • Discover how to locate meridians and points
  • Use your innately responsive, intuitive (and all together remarkable!) sense of touch
  • Learn some missing information that makes it so much easier to feel what you’re looking for
  • Consult meridian charts like we do maps – to get an idea of the “landscape” of meridian pathways.
  • Palpate meridians as though we were following a trail – by literally entering into channel “territory” (with our thumbs) and experiencing it through our senses, especially our sense of touch.

This course will cover:

  • Meridian extensions used in Dr. Shizuto Masunaga’s Zen Shiatsu technique
  • How to access them in supine, prone and lateral recumbent positions
  • New techniques for opening joints and meridian flow

Shiatsu is often called “acupuncture without needles.” It is proven to reduce stress, increase energy, relieve aches and pains in the head, neck, shoulders, back and joints, aid digestion and elimination, boost the immune system, improve sleep, and promote robust health and well-being. After assessing the meridians that will best address your complaints and goals, I will concentrate on those meridians in the areas you have brought to my attention, applying finger pressure along the energy channels in the body. Pressure can be light, medium or heavy, according to your needs and preferences. At the end of a session, your body moves more easily with less discomfort, while your mind feels both calm and alert.

Since 1975, I’ve been a specialist in, and international teacher of, Zen Shiatsu. My studies with its creator, Dr. Shizuto Masunaga, together with my decades of experience, have resulted in several specialties, including: joint pain and mobilization; improved immune system function; reproductive health; digestive complaints; and increased emotional equilibrium. My work provides connection among all aspects of your being – emotions, thoughts, attitudes, etc. – and relief that comes from harmony among these aspects.
