Yoga practice for physical strength, mindfulness, and creativity
Sundays at 2:00pm, starting 8/16
Mondays at noon, starting 8/17
This healing-focused yoga and creative writing class blends mindfulness, connecting to the body and mind through groundedness, and cultivating a writing practice in a supportive environment. Yoga practice in this class focuses on a deeper connection with yourself, emotional wellness and physical strength, while also encouraging empowerment and development of your voice. Join this trauma-informed class with poet and writer Leslie Contreras Schwartz in which we will practice an energizing yoga series, followed by creative writing exercises and sharing in which our stories are honored and encouraged. (Students do not need to share any of their writing from the generative exercises.)
Leslie is a yoga instructor (RYT-200) who studied at Yoga View. She is also a writer who has taught creative writing at universities and online. In addition to a twenty-year yoga practice and study of mindfulness, Leslie’s writing focuses on issues of social justice, stories that center women and their experiences, and her own personal accounts of overcoming difficult experiences. In this specialized class that brings yoga and creativity together, connect with your body and mind while also developing your voice and confidence in writing.
