This half day retreat explores how to shift from enduring to engaging to thriving.
Falling Awake is a phrase used in Mindfulness Practices. When we pause and become accustomed to listening to our inner world, we fall awake; we have realizations and gain clarity. Give yourself this gift: a half day to rest, assess and explore, meet new people, play games and experience healing yoga.
Endurance requires fortitude, stamina and locking in. We’ll add focus, attunement and flexibility. We know that intergenerational learning is vibrant. We carry embedded patterns of pain, problem solving and avoidance. We also carry learned patterns of hope, humor and creativity. Additionally, we live in a time of distraction, anxious attention and future walking.
We will spend our time, in this safe Circle Up, listening to the thoughts that are whispering and shouting; those thoughts we want to push down or, probably, find a like minded person. We will attend, sift and attune to what needs action and what can change.
In Falling Awake, we will spend some time tuning in to our thoughts and our capabilities.
Hope is a muscle that can be flexed as we come to a realistic assessment of what is present in our Day. We must cultivate Hope, Discernment and Action.Bring those hopes and worries. We have space for them. We’ll do this through conversation, games, journaling prompts, Yin Yoga, and meditation.
Facilitated by Dr. Melissa Perrin, this retreat offers a pause to reflect, assess and set intentions as we continue into the “next normal.”
