DESCRIPTION:Weekend workshop with Peter Holmes\, L.Ac.\nAppropriate class for licensed acupuncturists.\nSeptember 28-29\, 2019\n14 NCCAOM PDAs available\nHormone balance is probably the most important aspect of a woman’s health and wellbeing today.  To treat women’s conditions effectively requires more than a cookie-cutter TCM approach and more than a sterile allopathic approach aimed at suppressing symptoms. \nSo what is the solution?  In most cases\, a systemic functional approach to treatment based on assessing endocrine/ hormonal patterns of disharmony.  We can call these Jing and Shen patterns – they go deeper than Blood and Qi patterns.  Recognizing these fundamental syndromes is key to not only effective treatment but also to patient education and compliance\, as well longterm prevention in general! \nPure essential oils and herbal extracts are truly ideal for targeting the Jing level and balancing crucial hormones such as estrogen\, progesterone\, testosterone\, serotonin and others. \nUsed by inhalation\, essential oils are also amazing for addressing the Shen or mental-emotional issues that are usually involved in hormonal imbalance.\nBut this seminar is not just all about endocrine theory. It will also include practicalities on how to safely treat local conditions of the reproductive organs with essential oils\, using highly effective delivery techniques such as pessaries\, vaginal serums and sponges\, liniments and others. \nIn the practicums we will also be practicing Aroma Acupoint treatments\, i.e. hands-on oil-to-point treatments specifically designed to address the syndromes being discussed.\nThis is clearly a unique workshop that you won’t want to miss! The rewarding results obtained in clinical practice using these insights will speak for themselves. \nAbout Peter Holmes\, L.Ac.\, M.H.\nPeter is a medical herbalist\, clinical aromatherapist\, practitioner of Chinese medicine\, and respected author. His experience spans over 30 years. Peter apprenticed with Cantonese herbalist Dr. Lee in London\, graduated from the College of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture (U.K.) in 1980\, has studied with Ted Kaptchuk\, O.M.D.\, completed his postgraduate studies in Chinese medicine at the Ecole Européene d’Acupuncture in Paris\, and completed Western herbal medicine training at the College of Consultant Herbalists in England.\nIn addition\, he also apprenticed with medical herbalist Christopher Hedley MNIMH\, and with pharmacist-herbalist Henri Verdier in Paris\, with an emphasis on the clinical uses of essential oils.\nPeter is well known for his extensive research\, writings\, and lectures in the field of herbal and essential oil medicine.
