SUMMARY:Art Show: Heart's Awakening
DESCRIPTION:The presented body of work emerged out of the collective and personal turbulence beginning with year 2019\, leading to a search for a spiritual path.  \nThe work has been fueled by the meditation practice\, being in the moment\, as well as the need to find a center. \nLooking for depictions of compassion and hope\, I became fascinated with the images of creation\, expansion and regeneration\, and the image of Green Tara\, fully enlightened female Buddha\, the actuality of compassion and wisdom. \nThese oil paintings are complimented by a series of ephemeral smoke drawings\, a meditative technique called fumage\, evoking East Asian calligraphy and ink painting. \nAlicja Pulit is a Polish-American multidisciplinary artist and a resident of Evanston.
